Now in its seventh year, Library Giving Day is a nationwide campaign that has grown to include more than 400 library organizations across the United States and Canada — and Timberland Regional Library is asking the public to take part on April 1.
**Library Giving Day — April 1** Donations can be made online at TRL.org/Donate on or before April 1. The library is also accepting donations through its online store, where shoppers can add a monetary tip at checkout. Those who prefer to give by check should make it out to "Timberland Regional Library" with "Library Giving Day" in the memo line and mail it to TRL Headquarters, Attn: Finance Office, 415 Tumwater Blvd. S. W., Tumwater, WA 98501. The library notes that contributions are tax-deductible when designated for public purposes under IRS Code 26 U. S. C. §170(c)(1). The campaign is designed to build philanthropic support for individual library systems of all sizes.
**One Book, One Coast — concluding May 31, 2026** Separately, Timberland Regional Library is participating this spring in One Book, One Coast, a multi-state community reading program organized by LA County Library. The featured title is "They Called Us Enemy," a graphic memoir by actor and activist George Takei about his childhood imprisonment in American concentration camps during World War II. The program will conclude with a live author talk featuring Takei on May 31, 2026. The book is available through TRL's print catalog, the Libby app, and ComicsPlus with a library card.
