Thurston County and local agencies have filed several environmental reviews for projects affecting Olympia and surrounding areas. The County is reviewing a timber harvest plan on a residential parcel in Olympia, a boathouse construction near Summit Lake, and a conversion of buildings for behavioral health services in Centralia.
The timber harvest plan involves cutting 6,000 board feet of timber on 3.7 acres in an R 1/20 zoning area. A boathouse and marine rail project near Summit Lake requires permits under the Shoreline Master Program. The DSHS project in Centralia includes converting buildings to behavioral health units and adding a laundry facility.
Public comments are due by September 11 for the timber and boathouse projects. The County will review the filings to ensure compliance with environmental and zoning laws before making final decisions.
