Thurston County is hosting a free Spring Fix-It Fair at Lacey MakerSpace on Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Residents can bring broken or damaged bikes, clothing, small appliances, lamps, and other items for on-site repair help from county staff and volunteer fixers.

The event is free to attend, and registration is available through the county's website. The MakerSpace location in Lacey provides tools and workspace suited for repair projects.

The Fix-It Fair is part of Thurston County's broader sustainability efforts. The county was named Green Municipality of the Year by the Thurston County Chamber of Commerce on April 8 for its environmental planning, green business practices, and community-level climate, water, and waste programs. The Fix-It Fair supports the county's goal of reducing waste by keeping usable items out of the landfill.
