Thurston County has issued a Determination of Non-Significance for a forest land conversion project at 4810 Sunset Beach Dr NW in Olympia. Applicant Jay Kobza plans to clear approximately half an acre of timber to make way for a future single-family home.
The project involves harvesting roughly 15,000 board feet of timber under a Class IV Forest Land Conversion permit. The parcel totals 2. 09 acres and is zoned Rural Residential Resource, which allows one dwelling unit per five acres.
A DNS determination means county environmental reviewers found the project is not likely to have significant environmental impacts under the State Environmental Policy Act. The determination was issued April 17, 2026. Members of the public may submit written comments through April 30, 2026.
