OSD Seeks Community Input on 2026-27 Budget

With declining enrollment and rising costs shaping next year's budget, the Olympia School District is asking students, families, staff, and community members to complete a short survey about budget priorities for the 2026-27 school year. The survey closes at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026, and is estimated to take five minutes. Results will be presented to the Olympia School Board in April 2026.

A work session on the 2026-27 budget is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 2. Budget-related documents β€” including February 2026 enrollment figures, staffing updates, and enrollment projections β€” are available on the district's budget page.

Several other key deadlines and events are also approaching:

Transfer Requests Transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year are now open for new applicants and renewals.

Free Sports Physicals β€” Saturday, June 6, 2026 Students entering grades 7-12 who plan to participate in athletics can receive free sports physicals on Saturday, June 6, 2026.

Optional Elementary Program Enrollment The district is accepting enrollment and lottery applications for optional elementary programs at Lincoln Elementary School and Olympia Regional Learning Academy (ORLA) Montessori.

Countdown to Kindergarten Families with children entering kindergarten in 2026-27 are invited to the annual Countdown to Kindergarten event, open to both in-district and out-of-district families.
