The Olympia School District is asking community members to complete a short budget priorities survey before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2026. The district is building its 2026-27 budget while facing declining enrollment and rising costs. Survey results will be presented to the Olympia School Board in April.
The district held a budget work session on April 2 at 6 p.m. Budget materials available on the OSD website include February 2026 enrollment figures, staffing updates, enrollment projections for next year, and equity and staffing allocation documents.
In other OSD news, the Board of Directors has approved the 2026-27 school year calendar. The calendar covers only districtwide holidays and events. Families are advised to check individual school websites for school-specific schedules.
The district is also accepting new and renewal transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year. Any student wishing to attend an OSD school outside their assigned attendance area must apply. Applications are submitted through the district's online transfer process.
Additionally, free sports physicals will be available for OSD students entering grades 7-12 on Saturday, June 6, 2026, for those planning to participate in athletics next year.
