Olympia School District (OSD) began its regular 50-minute Wednesday early release schedule on Sept. 9 for all K-12 students. The early release allows teachers to meet for professional development, a standard practice in many school districts.

Families using district transportation should check the OSD Transportation webpage for adjusted bus drop-off times. The district also encourages families to bookmark the 2026-27 school year calendar for upcoming early release days, breaks, and holidays. The calendar includes all key dates for the school year.

The early release schedule is part of the district's ongoing operations and does not indicate any changes to the regular school day or academic calendar.
