Olympia Residences, Cleanup Plan Filed

πŸ”Š Listen Β· narrated by Aiden

Thurston County has filed two new projects for public review on July 15 and July 7, 2026.

The first project is a residential development proposal at 2120 Friendly Grove Rd NE. AHBL, the applicant, seeks approval for an 11-lot residential plat with single-family homes and a new cul-de-sac road in the R/4 zoning area of the Olympia Urban Growth Area. Public comments are due by August 4.

The second project involves a cleanup site at 700 W Bay Dr NW. The City of Olympia, as the current owner, is responsible for investigating and cleaning up the former Solid Wood Inc mill site. The Port of Olympia previously owned the property, which was used as a lumber mill from 1925 to 1959. The site was damaged by fire in 2001 and is now under the City's management for cleanup. Public comments are due by August 10.
