Olympia residents can now apply for building permits and schedule inspections through an online portal, replacing some in-person processes. The city's Permit Center updated its system to allow online submissions and scheduling, effective immediately.

The online portal requires users to create an account with an access code provided by the city. Inspections must be scheduled within five business days to avoid cancellations. Residents can choose AM or PM time slots, with exact times available by calling the Permit Center at 360. 753. 8314 on the morning of the inspection.

The city is encouraging all construction projects to use the new system to improve efficiency. Paper forms and in-person visits to the Permit Center at City Hall are still available, but the online system is now the primary method for most permit-related activities.
