Olympia City Council and Thurston County are reviewing three new development projects with public comment periods open. The Walnut Trails Subdivision would split 6. 17 acres into 21 single-family lots in Olympia, requiring wetland and stormwater management. Thurston County is reviewing Rob Rice Homes' plan for 58 lots on 7649 Littlerock Rd SW. The West Bay Marina Association seeks to replace unsafe piers and wood pilings with updated materials at 2100 West Bay Dr NW.
The Walnut Trails project includes stream and wetland protections, while the West Bay Marina project aims to improve environmental standards and safety. Public comments for all projects are due by August 19 for Walnut Trails, August 10 for Parr Division, and August 7 for West Bay Marina. Thurston County also amended a long-standing Oak Preserve subdivision plan, reducing the lot count from 1,037 to 803 lots.
Residents should note the deadlines for submitting feedback on these projects. The city and county will consider public input before making final decisions on the proposals.
