The County also reported a toxic algae bloom at Lake Lawrence on July 24, 2026, advising against swimming or drinking the water. Meanwhile, the County launched its second year of a discounted heat pump program for income-qualified households on August 17, 2026. The program offers free and low-cost heat pump installations.
