OSD Opens Budget Survey, Cites Declining Enrollment Concerns

The Olympia School District is collecting community feedback on its 2026-27 budget through a survey open until 11:59 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026. The district is asking students, staff, families, and community members to complete the five-minute survey. Results will be presented to the Olympia School Board in April.

The district is building next year's budget under pressure from two directions: declining enrollment and rising costs. OSD has published enrollment projections, staffing allocation documents, and a February 2026 budget update on its website for residents who want more detail.

Separately, the Board of Directors has approved the 2026-27 school year calendar. The calendar covers districtwide holidays and events only. Families are advised to check individual school websites for school-specific events.

Other updates from the district include free sports physicals for students entering grades 7-12 on Saturday, June 6, 2026, and open enrollment for transfer requests for the 2026-27 school year. Optional elementary program lottery information is also available for Lincoln Elementary School and the Olympia Regional Learning Academy Montessori program.
