North Thurston Public Schools (NTPS) is now accepting kindergarten registration for the 2026–2027 school year. Children who turn 5 on or before August 31, 2026, are eligible to enroll. Families who register by May 1 will be entered for a chance to win a prize.
The district, which serves the Lacey area of Thurston County, also has several upcoming events for families. An Elementary Battle of the Books competition is scheduled for tonight, April 23, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Salish Middle School Commons, 8605 Campus Glen Dr NE. A High School Battle of the Books follows on April 27 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at River Ridge High School, 350 River Ridge Dr SE.
NTPS is also hosting a Military Spouse Appreciation Event on Friday, May 8, from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. in the District Office Boardroom. The district is accepting Nutrition Applications for families who may qualify for free meals, summer food benefits, and waived school fees. Summer School registration is also currently open.
The next NTPS Board Meeting is scheduled for April 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Lakes Elementary, 6211 Mullen Rd SE. April 29 is an early release day for ACT testing.
